Kids in Motion Classes

Co-ed classes for children of all genders, ages 3-18 (age as of September 1 in current school year). Placement for Company and for classes for students age 9+ depends on both age and ability.

Preschool Classes
Creative Dance, Ages 3-4
Mondays, 12:30-1:00 PM (30 Minutes)
Wednesdays, 12:30-1:00 PM (30 Minutes)
This ballet-based class includes a variety of movement activities which develop listening skills and rhythm sense. It also helps increase fine and gross motor skills and body awareness.
Required attire: Leotard, tights, pink ballet slippers
Broadway Bound, Ages 4-5
Mondays, 1:00-1:45 PM (45 Minutes)
Tuesdays, 1:00-1:45 PM (45 Minutes)
Wednesdays, 1:00-1:45 PM (45 Minutes)
This class will be a fun way to introduce your child to ballet and tap while learning singing and acting techniques.
Required attire: Leotard, tights, pink ballet slippers (girls), black ballet slippers (boys), black tap shoes
Youth Classes
Dance Combo, Ages 5-7 and Ages 6-8
Ages 5-7: Mondays, 3:15-4:15 PM (60 Minutes)
Ages 5-7: Wednesdays, 3:15-4:15 PM (60 Minutes)
Ages 6-8: Wednesdays, 4:15-5:15 PM (60 Minutes)
This is a ballet, jazz, and tap combination class that will give the students a foundation and exposure to all three types of dance. The combo class helps keep the children excited, interested, and focused.
Required attire: Leotard, tights, pink ballet slippers (girls), black ballet slippers (boys), black tap shoes, and tan jazz shoes
Hip-Hop, Ages 5-8
Tuesdays, 3:15-4:00 PM (45 Minutes)
This high-energy dance class teaches age-appropriate funk moves set to pop music. This class will develop the dancer’s rhythm and coordination while encouraging freedom of movement. This class is perfect for young dancers of all skill levels who will benefit from the energy, creativity, and self-expression that hip-hop offers.
Required attire: Comfortable clothing (no dresses, skirts, or jeans), white-soled sneakers that are not the dancer's outside shoes
Lyrical, Ages 9+
Mondays, 6:00-6:45 PM (45 Minutes)
Lyrical is the fusion of ballet and jazz with expressive motions that tell a story. Students will learn lyrical technique along with how to express emotion through movement. This class is recommended for all company members.
Required attire: Foot Undeez shoes
Pre-Company Combo, Ages 9+
Thursdays, 4:00-5:00 PM (60 Minutes)
This class is intended for the student who has been taking tap, jazz, and ballet for several years and has a desire to learn more at a faster pace!
Required attire: Black tap shoes, tan jazz shoes, and pink ballet slippers
Broadway Jazz/Musical Theater, Ages 6-9
Thursdays, 3:15-4:00pm (45 Minutes)
This class explores the style of jazz that you see on stage and in the movies. It will incorporate elements of classical jazz and will help students increase confidence and performance skills. This class is perfect for students who would like to explore another style of jazz and/or are interested in performing in school productions and community theater.
Required attire: Leotard, jazz shorts or pants, tan jazz shoes
Broadway Jazz, Ages 10+
Thursdays, 5:00-6:00 PM (60 Minutes)
